AP – Signaling he’d meet critics part way on health care, President Barack Obama said Tuesday he’s willing to sign a bill even if it doesn’t deliver everything he pursued through a year of grinding effort at risk of going down as a dismal failure.

Obama will really be measured by his ability to achieve reform without a lot of regard given to what it exactly means. However, even a bill that misses on some areas still has the opportunity, in a system as bad as this one, to be an improvement to the American people. With some of the valid Republican contributions, it could actually be something worthwhile.
